What defines the Greatest Of All Time? A hotly debated topic, it’s hard to choose the ultimate GOAT — but Christine Sinclair is certainly on the list of top contenders for the title. One of the greatest soccer players ever, an Olympic gold medalist, two-time Olympic bronze medallist, CONCACAF champion and 14-time winner of the Canada Soccer Player of the Year Award, Sinclair’s 20+ year career is legendary.
Her memoir, Playing the Long Game, is part reflection on her accomplishments and heartbreaks and part call to action to level the playing field for whoever wants to compete in sport. She chats with Tony Chapman about the need to get more women athletes on the bookshelves, the future of soccer in Canada and her firm belief there’s plenty of room for a professional women’s league in this country. Sinclair’s former teammate, Karina LeBlanc, joins the show to talk about Christine’s accomplishments and her platform for change.
Sinclair opens up about her family and the people – past and present – who inspire her to be her best in life and on the field. One of the most-capped active international footballers, Christine Sinclair is a natural leader who is leading the call for equity in women’s sport.
