Jeanne Beker’s parents were survivors of the Holocaust, immigrating to Canada from a displaced persons camp during World War II. From a young age, Beker listened to their war stories, instilling in her the drive to go after her dreams fearlessly and with tenacity. She lives by her dad’s motto: Don’t be afraid and never give up.
She chats with Tony Chapman about leaving home at a young age to study performing arts in New York and Paris. She shares stories about her 27-year stint on Fashion Television, how she petitioned for the role and how she kept hold of it.
Beker also talks about her latest challenge — her breast cancer diagnosis — and how she’s using her platform to raise awareness for preventative health care and an opportunity to make a difference. She opens up about her love for her two daughters, finding love later in life and her drive always to be authentic and relevant.
Beker’s incredible story of rags to riches can inspire listeners of any age with big dreams, as she shows how positivity, passion and fearlessness can turn any dreams into reality.
Tony Chapman created the Chatter That Matters podcast to counter the storm of negativity and impossibility with true stories of ordinary people who do extraordinary things. He chats with Olympians, Advocates, Celebrities, Leaders, and people who battled what seemed like insurmountable odds.
