Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer comes from a wealthy family and he could have lived anywhere in the world. He chose Canada because of its values, diversity and beauty.
An avid model train hobbyist, Jean-Louis decided to translate his passion (one he inherited from his father) into a remarkable idea: He created a miniature version of Canada at the intersection of Yonge and Dundas Streets in Toronto. When host Tony Chapman visited the site, he was stopped in his tracks by the exhibit’s magnitude, level of detail and unprecedented creativity. “Words cannot explain what I experienced, and I hope my podcast does justice to this truly breathtaking and world-class exhibit honouring one of the great countries in the world,” says host Tony Chapman.
The show also talks about what it takes to have an idea and act upon it, and why passing a family business from one generation to another requires both thought and a plan.
This Canada Day, it’s worth seeing the country through the eyes of Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer, who invites you to explore and celebrate Canada and marvel at the beauty, richness and diversity of our land.
Tony Chapman created the Chatter That Matters podcast to counter the storm of negativity and impossibility with true stories of ordinary people who do extraordinary things. He chats with Olympians, Advocates, Celebrities, Leaders, and people who battled what seemed like insurmountable odds.
In doing so, listeners hear life lessons that inspire all of us to do more and to be more, to help us get to where we need, want and deserve to go. RBC is the presenting sponsor.
