"If you have conviction, you have capacity," says Victoria Pelletier, this week's guest on Chatter That Matters. Believing in embracing discomfort, focusing on one's purpose and challenging the status quo, Pelletier is a champion of diversity and living a life of no excuses.

“Victoria Pelletier is unstoppable even though life should have stopped her in her tracks. She had more than enough reason to crawl into a cave and hide, or to lash out at society.

She chose to do neither, and her personal mantra is no excuses. In many ways, she reminds me of W Mitchell, a guest on a previous podcast who, through his own tragedies, came to believe: It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do about it. Victoria Pelletier, thank you for the many life lessons on how to make things happen.” – Tony Chapman

In this edition of Chatter That Matters, Tony chats with Victoria Pelletier — motivational speaker and contributing author of the book Unstoppable: Stories of Change Makers Who Dare to Make a Difference. Born to a drug-addicted teenage mother and abused during her formative years, Victoria was driven to prove her worth from a young age. A manager at age 14 and C-Suite executive before her 25th birthday, Victoria was defined by her work and her results, until she pivoted to focus on her purpose — today, she shares her life lessons, including both her successes and her failures, to pull others along in their journey.

A self-proclaimed “misfit,” Victoria believes in making bold moves, leaning into discomfort and challenging the status quo, saying it’s the only way you’ll achieve the outcomes you want — in work and in life. She believes you can have it all, as long as you live a life of #NoExcuses.

A champion of the LGBT+ community, Victoria is an advocate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and challenges leaders to hire diverse candidates who think, talk and look different than they do. At the same time, she challenges everyone to go for roles where they don’t check all the boxes. People, teams and organizations will be better off for it.

Victoria’s story is extraordinary and her message is thought-provoking — she is an unstoppable force and believes everyone else can be too.
